Mercedes-Benz delivers electric buses to the Hague

Netherlands / Germany – After Daimler Buses Solutions GmbH electrified the HTM* bus depot in the Hague earlier this year, Daimler Truck AG of Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Baden-Württemberg has delivered the first batch of the 95 battery-electric solo and articulated Mercedes-Benz eCitaro and eCitaro G city buses ordered mid-2023. The Dutch public transport operator, HTM, ordered a mixture of both 12 and 18-metre versions of the bus.

Having purchased the full “e-package solution,” Daimler installed 41 charging stations (output of 360 kW) with a total number of 122 charging points at the depot. The result, up to four buses per charging station can be charged overnight at 90 kW. The supply agreement also includes maintenance and charging management software. Daimler worked with local charging installation partners ABB E-mobility and Batenburg Techniek. HTM is replacing its legacy fleet in the city in preparation for Dutch legislation mandating that only zero-emission public transport vehicles can operate by the end of 2025.
