Bendix has doubled air disc brake production since 2018

USA – Avon, Ohio-based Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC has announced that since 2018, the company has doubled the production of its Air Disc Brakes (ADB) due to an increased demand for Class 6-8 commercial vehicles in North America. Most of its ADB22X and ADB22X-LT air disc brakes are produced at its manufacturing plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The major investment went into a 130,000-square-foot expansion project in 2020, similar to the one at the Acuña manufacturing plant in Mexico. This resulted in hiring more staff and procuring more manufacturing equipment to meet the rise in ADB demand. This now means that “Bendix has the largest installed air disc brake assembly capacity in North America for the commercial vehicle market” according to Aaron Schwass, Bendix vice president for wheel-end in North America.
Piotr Sroka, Bendix President, CEO and COO said:
Bendix air disc brakes are part of the company’s full complement of wheel-end solutions, including drum brake systems, automatic slack adjusters, spring brakes, friction, and remanufactured ADB callipers. Bendix ADBs are available at major truck OEs and major trailer manufacturers, along with leading full-line North American school bus manufacturers and intercity coach manufacturers in the United States and Canada.
