EVR Motors sets up electric motor coil manufacturing in India

EVR Motors plant inauguration in Manesar

Israel / India – I.EVR Motors Pvt Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of EVR Motors, an Israeli company specialising in the manufacture of high power density electric motors, based in Petah Tikva, Israel, has inaugurated a new greenfield plant in Manesar, Haryana.

The plant in Manesar, which is EVR’s first manufacturing facility in India, is to produce trapezoidal geometry coils, a patented key component of EVR’s revolutionary Trapezoidal Stator Radial Flux Permanent Magnet (RFPM) motor technology. These coils are essential for EVR's electric motors, known for being smaller, lighter, and more cost-effective while maintaining the flexibility to meet diverse customer needs. The automated facility is initially designed to supply coils for assembly of approximately 20,000 motors per month, with plans to expand this output rapidly to around 100,000 motors, says the company, to meet the increasing global demand for electric vehicles.

The RFPM motor technology, which has received 11 patents, supports a wide range of applications from two- and three-wheelers to passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and offroad vehicles. The motors offer exceptional modularity, supporting voltages from 48 volts to over 400 volts, and meet varied speed and power requirements without major component or process changes.

EVR Motors says it has already secured commercial agreements with prominent Indian automotive companies such as Napino, Belrise Group, RSB Transmissions, and including bus builder, EKA Mobility after an agreement signed in November 2022. This move, it says is to bolster the company's ability to cater not only to the Indian market, but also the international markets.

Sajal Kishore, MD of I.EVR Motors Pvt Ltd said:

The opening of our new plant in India is a significant milestone in our mission to revolutionise electric mobility with innovative motor technologies. By establishing this facility, we ensure a reliable supply chain and support our growth plans in India and globally. This venture exemplifies India-Israel business cooperation and embodies our vision of 'Make in India for the world. Our greenfield investment highlights our confidence in the Indian market and trust in its burgeoning mobility sector.

EVR’s recently appointed Chairman, Nick Rogers, remarked:

The opening of our new manufacturing plant in Manesar marks a major milestone in EVR's mission to transform electric mobility through pioneering motor technologies. By establishing our own production facility for these electric motor coils, we're securing a critical component and ensuring a robust, stable supply chain for our customers.

ACT Expo 2024: Revolv and “Electric-Fleet-as-a-service” in the U.S.

By Bradley Osborne – 1st August 2024

There were many companies at the latest ACT Expo presenting variations on the theme of what one might call “Electric-Fleet-as-a-service” – that is to say, a contractual relationship where the operator has the upfront costs and hassles of switching to an electric fleet taken out of its hands by a “turnkey” service provider. One such company I spoke with was Revolv, whose CEO, Scott Davidson, feels that terms such as “X-as-a-service” and “turnkey” have been diluted through overuse. “Our product is performance,” he said.
