USA / Germany – At the end of October, Plus of Santa Clara, California announced the completion of initial testing of its self-driving technology with Traton Group trucks, marking its readiness to begin trials with customer fleets in Europe and North America.

The announcement coincided with the release of ‘Beta 5.0’, the latest version of Plus’s Level 4 autonomous driving software (called ‘SuperDrive’). The American tech company said that the launch of Beta 5.0 followed months of testing with Scania and MAN trucks on European roads and with International trucks on American roads. This initial test phase involved drawing up and implementing a process for assessing the vehicles and ensuring consistency across different truck platforms whilst adapting the software to local differences (for example, differences in sensor placement on the vehicle or between EU and NA trucks).
