Silvia Gerber is appointed President Volvo Financial Services in Latin America
Brazil – April 1, 2025, saw Silvia Gerber* take up the role of President Volvo Financial Services in Latin America based at the company’s headquarters in Curitiba replacing Carlos Ribeiro, who is now responsible VFS’s operations in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
With 25 years of management experience in financial and commercial areas, Sílvia Gerber, a long-time executive at Volvo, has been appointed to lead the Latin American operation of Volvo Financial Services (VFS), the brand's financial arm. In her new position, Sílvia is responsible for this business division in the markets of Brazil, Chile, Peru and Mexico. Gerber reports directly to VFS’s global president, Marcio Pedroso.
With a presence in 50 countries, Volvo Financial Services is a Volvo Group company that supports transporters in the acquisition of the brand’s products. In Brazil, its operations include financing (Banco Volvo), consortium (Consórcio Volvo), insurance (Corretora Volvo) and leasing of trucks, buses and construction equipment (Locadora Volvo).
*With a degree in business administration and economics from Goshen College (United States) and a postgraduate degree in energy and environmental economics from Scuola Superiore Enrico Mattei (Milan, Italy), Silvia Gerber has been with Volvo for almost twenty years. Highlights of her career include the positions of executive director of Volvo Colombia and, later, of UD Trucks (a former Volvo Group brand) for Latin America and the Caribbean. Her professional career also includes the position of chief financial officer (CFO) of Volvo Buses Latin America and Volvo Mexico. Her current position is CFO and vice president of Volvo Group Latin America.
