Canada / UK – Geotab Inc, the global connected transportation specialist, has announced the acquisition of Verizon Connect UK Ltd* (based in Reading, UK) commercial operations in Australia and nine European markets, including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, France, Portugal, Poland, the Netherlands, and Germany. This strategic move significantly enhances Geotab’s global footprint and strengthens its position in the small to mid-sized fleet segment.

Under the agreement, Geotab has taken over Verizon Connect’s sales, customer support and fleet management operations in the specified regions. The acquisition does not include Verizon Connect’s product development, engineering or North American operations. Around 400 Verizon Connect employees across Europe and Australia will join Geotab, bolstering its local expertise and customer support network.

The acquisition aligns with Geotab’s long-term growth strategy to broaden its international footprint and accelerate the adoption of its telematics platform worldwide. By integrating Verizon Connect’s established commercial operations, Geotab gains direct access to a substantial existing customer base, enabling it to offer its AI-driven insights, open-platform connectivity, and advanced fleet analytics to more businesses across diverse markets.

Both Geotab and Verizon Connect provide fleet-management and telematics solutions, making them natural competitors in the connected-fleet space. The integration is expected to enhance Geotab’s global service delivery, while offering former Verizon Connect customers access to the full suite of Geotab’s connected-vehicle technologies and ecosystem of partner integrations.
