The Uruguayan market in January to September registered 2,242 commercial vehicles (trucks, buses and minibuses) an increase of 8.8% compared with the 2,061 units sold in the same period of 2022.
Uruguay remains one of the smallest markets for CVs in Latin America and yet has a relatively high and disproportionate number of brands competing in the market place.
Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus exported 180 units to Uruguay in the first quarter this year, some 291.3% higher than in the same period of 2020. In March it sold 100 vehicles, which VWCO suggests was the largest volume it has ever sold in a single month.
