The filtration technology firm's new business unit will be operationally independent from the rest of the company, based at the UFI Innovation Center near Trento, Italy.

The plant will be dedicated to the production of advanced filtration and thermal management systems for battery-electric and fuel-cell electric vehicles as well as plug-in hybrids.

UFI Filters will supply Daimler Truck with heat exchangers - to be produced in Poland - which the two companies developed in collaboration.
