VW Caminhões e Ônibus Resende Ltda recorded a 133.1% increase in exports of trucks and bus chassis produced in the first four months of 2021 in Brazil compared with the same period last year.

Sales of trucks and bus chassis by Iveco Latin America Ltda grew 71% in the first half of this year, well above the market average, which was around 50%.

Scania Latin America Ltda reported record domestic truck sales growth of 115% for the first six months of 2021 at 7,794 units compared with 3,625 units and sees the strong demand continuing in the second half of the year.  

Following the sale of UD Trucks to Isuzu Motors, the Board of Directors at AB Volvo has proposed the proceeds from the sale be distributed to its shareholders, at SEK9.50 per share.

Isuzu is targeting consolidated net sales of JPY2,750bn for the financial year ending in March 2024, while consolidated operating income is forecast at JPY250bn and return on investment (ROI) of 12.5%.

Announcing a substantial increase in truck sales in Chile during the first quarter of 2021 of 45.8% to register 344 units (236), Scania Chile SA, headquartered in Santiago de Chile, said this performance had further consolidated its market position of second in the country.

The trailer and truck body builder and components supplier achieved net profits of BRA116m and net revenue of BRA1.5bn.

Iveco Latin America in 2020 reported truck sales of 5,064 units, and an increase of some 30.2% on 3,535 units in the previous year.

The FH 540 truck, produced by Volvo do Brasil Veículos Ltda at its manufacturing complex in São José dos Pinhais, sold 5,870 units between January and December 2020 making it the best-selling truck model in Brazil, according to data from dealer association, Fenabrave.
