Berger achieved the low weight and high payload with steel I-beams featuring a “Reuleaux triangle” design, which the company says allowed it to shed material without compromising on strength and stability.

In addition to Schmitz products, the new warehouse will also store parts for Berger Fahrzeugtechnik, a specialist in lightweight trailers.

Following approval of the transaction by competition authorities, Berger will benefit from access to the Schmitz distribution network and associated services, including connectivity through the ‘TrailerConnect’ platform.
