January 2020 saw Meritor Inc strengthen its electric drivetrain capabilities with its acquisition of all the remaining shares in Transportation Power Inc -  since 2010 a supplier of integrated drive systems, full electric truck solutions and energy-storage subsystems based in Escondido.

Brake, axle and drive systems supplier, Meritor Inc of Troy, has reported strong results for its fiscal year ending September 30, 2019: It posted sales of USD4.4bn, up by almost 5% on USD4.19bn in the previous year.
