The companies are set to develop a fully electrified refrigerated trailer that aims to reduce emissions in the cold chain logistics industry.

With Thermo King’s expertise in electrifying transport refrigeration, the partners aim to achieve reduced fuel consumption in diesel truck-trailers and increased range in electric combinations.

Developed in collaboration with fellow German company Trailer Dynamics, Krone will present its new eTrailer, equipped with an electrified eAxle that recovers braking energy through recuperation, reducing the consumption of diesel and therefore the amount of CO2 produced.

Krone Commerical Vehicle Group of Werlte, and Trailer Dynamics GmbH of Aachen, have announced a strategic partnership with the goal of developing an electrified trailer.
