After a downturn in wheel demand in Europe, Accuride Wheels Europe & Asia GmbH, a subsidiary of the U.S.-based Accuride Corp, filed for insolvency on February 5, 2025, at the Wuppertal District Court in Germany.

The American manufacturer announced in September that it is adding two new third-party options to its semi-trailers: a lightweight brake drum from Accuride; and a liftgate battery charger from Schmitz Cargobull’s North American joint venture with Utility.

The company introduced its AeroLight concept study as well as Europe's lightest front axle and trailer wheel, weighing just 36.2 kg, along with a new range of forged aluminium wheels for the European commercial vehicle sector.

John has been with Accuride for almost five years, occupying the role of Vice President of Sales & Marketing.

The company unveiled two new lightweight steel wheels for the commercial vehicle sector, the 22.5x11.75 steel wheel for trailers and trucks and the 24.5x9.00 drop-centre wheel.
