EV automaker BrightDrop (a subsidiary of General Motors Corp.) of Detroit, Michigan, has announced completion of the first series production units of its EV600 light commercial vehicle.

A collaboration between commercial vehicle makers, Navistar Inc, General Motors Corporation and OneH2, a commercial supplier of hydrogen fuel, is introducing a complete solution for customer implementation of a hydrogen-powered zero-emission long-haul vehicle, to be initially piloted by J.B. Hunt Transport Inc.

Agreement with a private sector union representing 1,900 workers at the CAMI Assembly Plant in Canada has virtually given a green light for General Motors Company to invest some USD1bn in the Canadian plant to build its new EV600 all electric van.

BrightDrop is the name of a new business division of General Motors Corporation through which it plans to offer an integrated ecosystem of electric products, software, and services for first to last mile operations.

Nikola Corporation has signed a new global supply agreement with General Motors Company for the latter to supply it with hydrogen fuel cell systems for integration by Nikola into its heavy-duty on-highway trucks and tractor units – this  agreement supersedes and replaces the transaction announced on September 8, 2020.

General Motors Company says  it plans to withdraw from several markets in Asia-Pacific and Oceania to focus on its most profitable global markets.
