Iveco Latin America recently sold 224 trucks and vans to Ambev SA, a Brazilian company dedicated to the production of beverages to modernize its product delivery service fleet, in urban and suburban operations.

In March, the Brazilian Government in capitol city of Brasília, agreed the launch of a Methane Reduction Programme under an agreement called the Special Regime of Incentives for the Development of Infrastructure (REIDI) to encourage production and sustainable use of biomethane in Brazil.

With the continuation of the mass vaccination and maintenance of a high level of GDP, the Brazilian truck and bus segment should continue to grow in 2022, stated Márcio Querichelli, President of IVECO Commercial Vehicles South America Ltda speaking Sete Lagoas, Minas Gerais with Truck & Bus Builder South America in December. “IVECO has registered a significant volume of orders with many coming from the general cargo and mining segments, especially in the heavy and semi-heavy truck segments,” he stated.

Iveco Latin America has adopted an online platform service for spare parts in Brazil through the Mercado Livre portal, a leader in technology for e-commerce and financial services in Latin America.

Sales of trucks and bus chassis by Iveco Latin America Ltda grew 71% in the first half of this year, well above the market average, which was around 50%.

Iveco América do Sul Ltda at the start of this year announced it was hiring 478 temporary workers for its industrial complex in Sete Lagoas, Minas Gerais to expand commercial vehicle production to meet demand. This is in addition to 272 new employees hired in October last year.

DAF, Iveco, Foton Caminhões, Mercedes-Benz, Scania, Volkswagen Trucks and Buses and Volvo Trucks Latin America have all added new dealers, adding more than 60 new truck dealer points in the country.

Márcio Querichelli, head of Iveco Latin America and responsible for South American markets, says the company is forecasting a recovery of truck sales to pre-pandemic volumes in Brazil in two to three years’ time in 2023.

It is the largest industrial complex of CNH Industrial’s brand operations in Latin America, where it develops and produces light commercial vehicles, trucks, bus chassis and defence vehicles.

Iveco Latin America in 2020 reported truck sales of 5,064 units, and an increase of some 30.2% on 3,535 units in the previous year.
