Brazilian bus body manufacturer Caio, in partnership with Volvo Group Mexico, has supplied 87 new low floor Euro VI city buses as part of a renewal programme of the Passenger Transport Network (RTP) fleet in Mexico City.
The capital and largest city of Peru, Lima, in June received 300 buses with Caio Induscar Apache VIP bus bodies and Mercedes-Benz OF-1721 high-floor chassis for the Pan American Games, which are taking place there between July 26 and August 11.
Bus builder, Caio Induscar Ltda, has announced it is in the process of exporting 148 Mondego City bus models on Mercedes-Benz Euro VI chassis to Buses Vule, an operator providing services to the Transantiago Transport system in Santiago de Chile.
In December, Caio Induscar Ltda, State of São Paulo reported it had delivered another 102 school buses for operation in the city of Botucatu, State of São Paulo; these were sourced under the school bus programme, Caminho da Escola program, which is funded by the National Education Development Fund (FNDE).
