The two partners are already working on integrating Sibros’ ‘Deep Connected Platform’ with Continental’s ‘IoT Gateway’, with a focus on commercial vehicles.

Continental officially inaugurated its new multimillion-euro corporate headquarters on the Hans-Böckler-Allee campus, in Hanover, Germany on December 13, 2023. The campus consists of six buildings, housing over 2,400 employees, in both the Tires and ContiTech groups.

Currently, the multinational is retreading more than one million of its commercial vehicle tyres a year throughout its retread plants/subsidiaries worldwide. This all falls below the ContiLifeCycle* sustainable strategy, aiming to maximise tyre longevity for customers and improve environmental sustainability.

Bandvulc also had a wide selection of retread tyres on the stand, including the new BD5 drive tyre in the Fleetmaster range which has been engineered for mileage performance and longevity.

The Bandvulc Ivybridge plant in the UK mainly focuses on hot-retreading for the UK market with Bandvulc tyres being designed and manufactured in Ivybridge as well as producing Continental rebranded tyres in partnership with the Stöcken plant.

Jorge Almeida is Continental’s new Head of Sustainability, having taken over from Claus Petschick, who has retired. In his new role, he will be responsible for the sustainability activities of the company’s global tyre operations, with a focus on climate change mitigation, low-emission transportation, the circular economy and sustainable supply chains.

Continental has sold its Kaluga plant in Russia to S8 Capital, whilst Michelin has signed an agreement to sell two of its local companies, Michelin Russia Tyre Manufacturing Company and Camso CIS, to Power International Tires, one of Russia’s main tyre distributors.
