The largest battery conference in Europe is set to take place between November 5 to 7, 2024, at the Darmstadtium Science and Congress Centre in Darmstadt, Germany.

The latest diagnostics and telematics systems from its brand, Jaltest Telematics were on display. These fleet management systems have been designed for commercial vehicle fleets and predominantly deal with predictive maintenance through remote diagnostics tools.

Set to go to market in Q1 2024, this safety system is designed to reduce the risk of accidents, extend the service life of the tyre and minimise fuel costs (and CO2 emissions) by optimising tyre pressure and therefore performance.

The e-SMaRT AU56 City product is set to go into series production in Q2 2024. The first tyres to roll off the production line will be 275/70 R22.5 tyres, designed for the urban electric bus market.

The first deliveries of the second-generation vehicle are set for May 2024 and will be produced at the new truck production plant in Lazkao, Spain.  According to Irizar, the truck is lighter, has a redesigned cab and has made significant improvements to its batteries.

The trucks are equipped with an e-motor offering nominal power of 120kW and 190kW output and nominal torque of 950 and 1,850Nm respectively (2,600 and 3,500Nm peak performance). 

Through Connected Mobility, customers can procure new tyres, access services to maintain and optimise their tyres, and make use of digital tools such as fleet management and tyre pressure monitoring.

Renault Trucks announced concurrently its own 'Red Edition' of the new generation Master.

The international jury said they chose the FH Electric for its “performance, seamless acceleration, quietness, and vibration-free behaviour.”

The low-floor hydrogen-powered 12-metre fuel cell bus debuted at the show. Equipped with ZF front steer and AxTrax drive axles and 15 – 45 kWh traction batteries from Impact Clean Power, the bus is currently being tested in Germany.

The new MAN VOK-08-F bus front axle will go into production in mid-2024 for installation in New Flyer of America’s range of Xcelsior transit bus models.

The aim of the consortium's project is to automate a 40-foot bus for automated depot operations, which is expected to revolutionize how buses are stored, operated, and charged.
