Automated technology specialist ABB Ltd of Zürich, Switzerland, has announced the acquisition of a 60% stake in commercial EV charging firm InCharge Energy, based in Santa Monica, California, USA. The transaction builds on ABB’s initial investment as part of Series A venture capital funding in InCharge.

Swiss energy company, ABB Ltd of Zurich, Switzerland and Amazon Web Services, an Amazon.com Inc company based in Bangalore, are to collaborate on joint development of a cloud-based digital solution for the real-time fleet management of electric vehicles. The solution aims to optimise the efficient use of electric vehicles and speed up the electrification of transport fleets.

Energy management specialist, ABB, has opened a battery energy storage manufacturing plant in Baden designed for storing electrical energy for charging electric trucks, electric buses and trolleybuses as well as electric and hybrid locomotives.
