Hispacold has moved to new purpose-built premises in Torrecuéllar within the Free Trade Zone of the Port of Seville.

Already based in Seville, the company, over the next twelve months, will move into a new 36,000 square-metre facility, of which 14,000 square-metres is warehouse space with a 2,500 square-metre office.

The company displayed its new electric eBreeze HVAC system which is 20% lighter and requires 40% less refrigerant gas to operate than previous electric ranges.

The company has won a contract from Colas Rail Italiato to install its Grid-eMotion charging infrastructure in Genoa to aid the Val Bisagno Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line in Northern Italy. This contract will support the local Genoa City Council’s plan to decarbonise its public transport network by helping bring 34 electric buses online.

The company has attributed this to strong growth in the electromobility segment (e-bus) as well as its presence in new markets such as Australia and Turkey.

A two-year industry/educational institution collaboration project, called SAPOHVAC, utilising AI systems such as deep learning and machine learning has been developed to run a range of diagnostic tests on Hispacold’s HVAC systems in various scenarios that can predict when maintenance is needed.

It was back in 2019 that Hispacold started to deliver its first of 37 full electric HVAC systems for Alexander Dennis’ E400EV electric double deck models. The vehicles were equipped with two electric HVAC systems, one for passengers, the DDE HP E400 EV, and one for the driver, DCAB HP E400 EV.

Internacional Hispacold SA (Hispacold), a subsidiary of Irizar Group SC headquartered in Seville, Spain, reported turnover increased by 28.6% to EUR46.3 million in 2021, up from EUR36 million a year earlier, which was mostly supported by growth in the rail segment of the business, but also from the e-bus segment.

HVAC systems supplier for bus and coach and rail, Hispacold SA has opened a climate testing laboratory at its headquarters in Seville. The new purpose-built facility has two separate climate chambers, one for bus and one for rail. Hispacold says it has invested close to EUR1million in the centre, with initial plans first drawn up as far back as 2010.

Irizar has launched its very first battery-electric truck, which is billed as the lowest-entry truck on the market and is designed for specialised urban and construction applications. It was exhibited at Solutrans in Lyon, France.

Air conditioning manufacturer, Hispacold International, says an independent test shows its eco3 air purifier is 99.7% effective in removing the coronavirus from the air.

Hispacold since April this year has, for the first time been delivering it's electrical air conditioning unit with reversible heat pump to Alexander Dennis Ltd for fitment in its BYD E400 EVfull electric double decker bus.
