Irizar e-mobility sl has won its first electric bus contract in Italy, taking the number of countries to operate Irizar electric buses to eight.

Irizar e-mobility sl, the dedicated electric mobility division of Irizar S Coop has announced it is the first green energy electromobility factory in Europe with the opening and commissioning of the largest photovoltaic solar farm in the Basque Country.

The Irizar e mobility plant in Aduna, a division of Spain’s Ormaizetagi-based Irizar Group, has delivered two 10.8m Irizar ie bus electric buses to the Portuguese city of Bragança making them the first Irizar ie bus models to enter Portugal and the seventh European country to be included in Irizar's electric bus network.

Irizar e-mobility has been awarded a contract to supply 15 zero-emission ie Tram units and a charging network in Schaffhausen.

Irizar e-mobility announced at this year's UITP Summit it now has an expanded line-up of zero-emission buses.
