The deal will mark the first time that ZF’s OnTraX system for lane keeping assistance has been installed in a commercial vehicle platform in North America.

The owner of DAF, Kenworth and Peterbilt reported revenues of USD28.82bn, earnings of USD3.01bn and a net income of USD921.3m.

Paccar says that select Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks built from 2024 onwards will be installed with Virtual Vehicle, an edge computing platform that provides access to telematics, real-time data and third-party applications directly from the vehicle.

The vehicle is equipped with a Paccar MX-13 12.9 litre 510 hp engine, a Paccar TX-12 automated transmission, and a 21-gallon diesel tank as well as the Aurora Driver level 4 autonomous driving software. 

The X15N, the newest in the X-Series of natural gas engines, will be offered in heavy-duty trucks manufactured by PACCAR subsidiaries Kenworth and Peterbilt.

Kenworth Truck Co has broken ground on a USD45 million, 105,000 sq ft expansion to its Chillicothe manufacturing site in Ohio. The expansion represents around a 17% increase to the 622,000 sq ft Class 8 truck manufacturing plant, with the new building housing a new test building on the north side of the plant.

Kenworth Truck Co (a subsidiary of Paccar Inc), headquartered in Kirkland, Washington, has debuted its fully electric T680E Class 8 truck at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The T680E is the first Class 8 electric truck that the firm has produced.

Meritor is ramping up sales of its electric powertrain for the North American market - the company is currently working with nine OEM partners. Outside of North America, Meritor is collaborating with partners in Europe, South America, and India.

The government-funded project involves the use of corresponding Wave charging pads installed on the undercarriage of the test vehicle and in the ground.

Autonomous vehicle specialist Kodiak Robotics Inc, based in Mountain View, California, has announced a fourth generation of its autonomous truck system.

Kenworth Truck Company of Kirkland and driveline component supplier, Dana Incorporated, announced their collaboration on electric powertrain development for medium-duty Kenworth battery electric vehicles at the CES event in Las Vegas early this month.
