CV maker,  Tata Motors Ltd of Mumbai, on  October 28, 2021 at its Mumbai  facility unveiled no fewer than 21 new models across all segments including seven new trucks in the medium and heavy duty segments, five new LCV and ICV (4-18 tonne GVW) trucks, four new SCV trucks and five new buses.

Tata Motors Ltd of Mumbai has delivered 35 of its STAR AC electrically-powered buses, which is a part of a larger order for 340 electric buses to Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST).

Tata Group subsidiaries, Tata Motors Ltd of Mumbai, a commercial vehicle manufacturer, together with power company, Tata Power Co Ltd of Mumbai have set up vehicle charging stations at  BEST’s (Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport) Worli Depot, the fourth after Backbay, Malvani, and Shivaji Nagar depots in the city of Mumbai. Currently there are some 386 electric buses in operation with BEST, including models from Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, Olectra and VECV.

Tata Motors Ltd,  a commercial vehicle manufacturer based in Mumbai, says it has delivered two 9-metre 34-seater AC electric buses (Tata Urban 9m Electric1) together with a DC fast charger (the charging station is supplied by Tata Motors but it is manufactured by Tata Power) to specialist engineering firm, Endress+Hauser Flowtec India Pvt Ltd of Aurangabad, who are to use them for staff transportation applications.

Tata Motors has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the government of Gujarat to support setting up a Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility in Ahmedabad, for end-of-life passenger and commercial vehicles.  

Tata Motors has incorporated a new wholly-owned subsidiary company called TML CV Mobility Solutions, which will provide end-to-end services of operating, repair and maintenance.

Tata Motors supplied 50 Tata/Marcopolo-bodied CNG buses to the Bihar State Road Transport Corporation, which marked the first time the state has taken buses powered using natural gas. 

Tata Motors has won a tender to supply 15 hydrogen-based proton exchange membrane fuel cell buses from the Indian Oil Corporation for the value of USD6.129m.

Tata Motors has supplied the first 15 Tata Winger ambulances to the Gujarat government which is part of an order for 115 ambulances; the remaining 90 are to be supplied in a phased manner. 

Commercial vehicle manufacturer, Tata Motors Ltd of Mumbai, has released onto the Indian market a new generation of medium-duty Tata Ultra truck models – the Ultra Sleek T-Series of T.61, T.72 and T.93. All are offered in various deck lengths from 10 to 20 feet to meet a multiple range of applications and are equipped with the 4SPCR BS VI engines used previously only in the LCV truck range (i.e., below 7t gvw), but are now fitted in ICV range up to 9t gvw trucks.

Truck giant, Tata Motors Ltd of Mumbai, has launched its new variant in M&HCV segment – the Tata Signa 3118.T1 – a 3-axle 6×2 rigid truck with a gross vehicle weight (gvw) of 31 tons featuring a 12.5t dual tyre lift-axle.

Commercial vehicle manufacturer, Tata Motors Ltd is to acquire the 49% shareholding in Tata Marcopolo Motors Ltd, the Indian body building joint venture belonging to Brazilian bus body builder, Marcopolo SA, for a cash sum of USD13.88m.
