The company has appointed Christian Wilz as the new head of Mercedes-Benz Trucks in Germany, taking over from Joachim Schlereth who is retiring at the end of the year. Wilz’s responsibilities will be for sales and service of Mercedes-Benz and Fuso brand trucks in Germany.

The latest diagnostics and telematics systems from its brand, Jaltest Telematics were on display. These fleet management systems have been designed for commercial vehicle fleets and predominantly deal with predictive maintenance through remote diagnostics tools.

Set to go to market in Q1 2024, this safety system is designed to reduce the risk of accidents, extend the service life of the tyre and minimise fuel costs (and CO2 emissions) by optimising tyre pressure and therefore performance.

The idea is to allow customers to find public chargers nearby which can accommodate trucks and pay for charging their vehicles on receipt of a single consolidated invoice.
