T&BB decided to delve into the reasons for this sales success story by interviewing the top management of Stuart Beeton, Head of Sales & Marketing and Peter Murphy, Managing Director of Isuzu Truck UK.

With two new functions – a camera and ‘Smart Scan’ – the technician can automatically acquire the vehicle number and access fault codes read from the vehicle, such as OEM service bulletins, recall data, and repair tips.

Aurora shared progress on the upcoming commercial launch of its level 4 autonomous truck driving software (Aurora Driver) and for the very first time, publicly displayed the Aurora Driver in a Volvo VNL truck (without a driver), navigating different driving and safety scenarios on a closed circuit track. 

The company says that customers will have a wide choice of Scania trucks, buses, and coaches to choose from through its 'Scania Go' approved used vehicle programme.

The first project is a joint program with Czech truck manufacturer, Tatra Trucks to co-develop a specialised off-road truck prototype called the “Battery Electric Tatra Truck” with multi-speed Transmission (BETTT). Eaton will be responsible for the development of the power distribution unit (PDU) and 4-speed EV transmission.

The digital tyre management tool (“app”) can be accessed through any smart device and is free to use with five connected vehicles or less.

‘Ford Pro Upfitter’ is the automotive manufacturer’s new accreditation programme, replacing its ‘Qualified Vehicle Modifier’ system.

‘Renault Trucks City’ – a service outlet operated by the company’s dealership in the nearby commune of Corbas – will provide maintenance and repair services for medium-duty trucks and light commercial vehicles operated by its customers in the local area.

Certification requires the necessary aftermarket services including maintenance and repairs, expert consulting services and replacement parts distribution. Furthermore, the centres require charging infrastructure with dedicated BEV serving bays as well as staff upskilling to meet the requirements of BEV fleet maintenance. This enhances DTNA’s aftermarket services across North America. 

Daimler Truck opened a new 22,000 sqm truck and bus all-purpose driveline agnostic servicing and sales centre in Stuttgart (“Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle Center”) for Mercedes-Benz and Fuso trucks as well as Setra and Mercedes-Benz buses. This is its fifth such facility in the past 12 months, and it plans to add three more in Europe in 2025.

The two engineering teams have already started working together on ChargePoint’s new generation EV chargers, building on a previous manufacturing agreement. ChargePoint wants to capitalise on AcBel’s 40 years of R&D experience, bringing more efficient EV chargers to market, faster and at a lower cost.
