REE Automotive has completed its merger with 10X Capital Venture Acquisition Corporation on July 22, 2021, following approval of shareholders.

June 2021 saw ABBA BidCo, a subsidiary of BorgWarner, acquire 89.08% of Darmstadt-based battery producer, AKASOL, for USD648m.

Hübner GmbH & Co KG (Hübner Group) of Kassel Germany has acquired Dutch electro-hydraulic chassis steering specialist, V.S.E. Vehicle Systems Engineering B.V. of Veenendaal, Netherlands, for an undisclosed sum from Weber-Hydraulik Group, which has owned VSE since 2014.

Electric van and bus manufacturing start up, Arrival Ltd of London, UK, on 24 March 2021 completed its previously announced merger with CIIG Merger Corporation of New York, NY, USA to become a publicly listed company trading on the Nasdaq Global Select Market with its ordinary shares and warrants listed under the new ticker symbols ‘ARVL’ and ‘ARVLW’, respectively.

Fusion Capital Holdings reached an agreement in September to acquire fellow bus manufacturer, Bustech Pty Ltd with Fusion taking control of both companies.

Commercial vehicle manufacturer, Tata Motors Ltd is to acquire the 49% shareholding in Tata Marcopolo Motors Ltd, the Indian body building joint venture belonging to Brazilian bus body builder, Marcopolo SA, for a cash sum of USD13.88m.

Following news in the last issue of Truck & Bus Builder (October 2019) announcing the collapse of the Wrights Group of Ballymena, Bamford Bus Company Ltd, a newly formed subsidiary company of AB&C Manufacturing Ltd (2006) set up and owned by Joseph Bamford, on October 22, 2019 announced it had acquired Wrightbus.
