The 'First Movers Coalition' is a government-supported initiative to create market demand for low-carbon medium- and heavy-duty trucks through purchase commitments.

Public transport service provider, Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST)1 of Mumbai, has released a tender for some 1900 new electric buses.

Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) of Mumbai has signed a letter of intention (LOI) with the Transformative Urban Mobility Initiative (TUMI)1 E-Bus Mission, to develop a tailored implementation work plan for deploying electric buses in Mumbai. The TUMI E-Bus Mission will comprise a technical assistance plan and a plan to create a long-term adoption roadmap for Mumbai.

The transport authority will no longer purchase diesel or hybrid buses, with the aim of transitioning to an entirely zero-emissions fleet by 2034.
