Bus and coach domestic sales (>7.5t gvw) in the financial year ending March 2022 (FY2021-22) reported unit growth figures of 61.20% to 11,804 units, up from 7,322 units a year prior.

Sales of light-duty passenger vehicles (7.5 tons and below) rose in the FY2021-22 by 65.1% to 19,957 from 12,088 in the previous fiscal year.

Total tractor sales near enough doubled (up 99.8%) during financial year (FY) ending March 31, 2022 (FY2021-22) to register 27,735 units, compared with 13,880 units in the previous year (FY2020-21).

Tractor sales during the fourth quarter of FY 2021-22 (January to March 2022) increased by 41.9% to register 11,941 units, compared with 8,413 units in the same quarter of the previous year (FY 2020-21).

Sales of medium and heavy rigid trucks (7.5t GVW and above) in India experienced a positive growth of 13.8% in Q4 of FY2021-22 to register 76,671 units, up from 67,377 units in same quarter of the year 2020-21.

Mercedes-Benz do Brasil recorded a 77% growth in truck exports in 2021 compared with the previous year, shipping 8,026 units to countries in Latin America and overseas markets.

The market for trucks and buses in Brazil in the first quarter of 2022 generally saw growth, although the breakdown by weight segment shows that results were mixed, as truck registrations rose 3% to 26,852 units while bus and coach registrations dropped 0.3% to 3,322 units.
