The two companies are developing a truck, code named 'Oxygen', with easy manoeuvrability and safety as design priorities.

Iveco Bus, headquartered in Turin, Italy, has announced the signing of three framework agreements with DPP, Prague’s public transport authority, for the supply of up to 253 buses between 2022 and 2027.

CALSTART has recently published its annual ‘Zeroing in on Zero-Emission Trucks’ report highlighting that, as of December 2021, there have been 1,215 ZETs (zero-emission trucks) deployed on US roads.¹ Crucially, however, CALSTART estimates that over 60% of ZETs deployed in the US are no longer operational. Consequently, the true number of active ZETs is much lower than initially suggested.

Ebusco Holding N.V., headquartered in Deurne, Netherlands, has received an order for up to 80 electric buses from Metropole Rouen Normandie, the operator of public transport in Rouen, France. The contract comprises an initial order for four Ebusco 2.2 buses to be delivered at the end of 2022 with an option to purchase an additional 76 Ebusco 3.0 buses to be delivered in batches between 2023 and 2026. All units in the contract are 18 metre models.

HVAC systems supplier for bus and coach and rail, Hispacold SA has opened a climate testing laboratory at its headquarters in Seville. The new purpose-built facility has two separate climate chambers, one for bus and one for rail. Hispacold says it has invested close to EUR1million in the centre, with initial plans first drawn up as far back as 2010.

Alexander Dennis Ltd, headquartered in Larbert, Scotland, and BYD Auto Co Ltd, based in Shenzhen China, have announced that they are to build 130 double deck Enviro400EVs, ready to enter service in Coventry, UK, in 2023.

220 BAE-powered Xcelsior hybrid buses will be delivered to Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, with options to purchase up to 120 more.

The largest order yet received for the LFSe+, 20 units will be delivered by Q4 2022 to Houston, Texas.

The Cizaris 12EV low-floor city bus, with a chassis based on an EV Dynamics' product, is immediately available as a battery-electric option, with a fuel-cell electric version to follow in 2023.

Isuzu Motors Ltd, headquartered in Shinagawa, Tokyo, and Hino Trucks Ltd of Hino-shi, Japan, announced at the end of February they plan to begin production of a new battery-powered (BEV) flat-floor route buses in the 2024 financial year, as they look to strengthen their respective efforts towards achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.  

Following the delivery of the Urbino CNGs, there will be a total of 350 gas-powered Solaris buses operating in the Estonian capital.

Already an option for MAN coaches, the mirror replacement system will now be available for all new models in the Lion's City bus ranges.
