DAF Trucks N.V., based in Eindhoven, has begun field testing the new generation of the XF, XG, and XG+ distribution trucks. DAF will unveil its New Generation of distribution trucks in the second half of the year. The new series will become available in addition to the range of DAF CF trucks.

CaetanoBus S.A., headquartered in Porto, Portugal, has announced it has won two international tenders to supply ten H2.City Gold buses to Düsseldorf’s operator Rheinbahn, and eight units to SSB Stuttgart. The orders add to more than 40 H2.City Gold buses already in service in Germany.

Ford Motor Co, based in Dearborn, Michigan has announced that Ford Otomotiv Sanayi A.Ş. (Ford Otosan), based in Gölcük, Turkey, will assume control of its manufacturing plant in Craiova, Romania, subject to regulatory approval, in Q3 2022.

Allison Transmission Inc, based in Indianapolis, Indiana, has announced an agreement with Mack Trucks Inc, headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina. Under the agreement, Allison’s 3000 Rugged Duty Series (RDS) transmission will be offered in the Mack Class 6 and Class 7 MD truck series.

Daimler Truck AG, based in Stuttgart, Germany, has announced the Mercedes-Benz eEconic has completed its final endurance tests before the start of series production. The eEconic was tested in the Arctic Circle at temperatures as low as -25°C to prepare it for its intended municipal use in Rovaniemi, Finland.

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corporation, based in Kawasaki City, Japan, has unveiled the next generation eCanter test vehicle. Prior to the official launch, the test vehicles are destined to undergo a total test distance of over 1 million km, which includes testing in severe hot and cold climates both domestically and abroad.

BAE Systems Inc, headquartered in Endicott, New York, has announced it is to supply the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transport Authority (SEPTA) with up to 340 Series-ER hybrid electric drive systems for its new fleet of low emission transit buses.

BYD has recieved an order for 200 Class 8 battery electric trucks from Swedish technology firm Einride. The order represents the largest of its kind for BYD outside of Asia, with all 200 vehicles set to be deployed in Einride's US operations. The BYD 8TT trucks are assembled at the firm's plant in Lancaster, California.

General Motors Company’s subsidiary BrightDrop Inc, headquartered in Palo Alto, California, has rebranded its electric product range. It’s delivery vehicles, first dubbed the EV600 and EV410, have been renamed the Zevo 600 and Zevo 400, respectively.

The two companies are developing a truck, code named 'Oxygen', with easy manoeuvrability and safety as design priorities.

Iveco Bus, headquartered in Turin, Italy, has announced the signing of three framework agreements with DPP, Prague’s public transport authority, for the supply of up to 253 buses between 2022 and 2027.

CALSTART has recently published its annual ‘Zeroing in on Zero-Emission Trucks’ report highlighting that, as of December 2021, there have been 1,215 ZETs (zero-emission trucks) deployed on US roads.¹ Crucially, however, CALSTART estimates that over 60% of ZETs deployed in the US are no longer operational. Consequently, the true number of active ZETs is much lower than initially suggested.
