The first DAF LF Electric truck to be sold in Europe has been bought by the Dutch logistics service provider, Nabuurs.

According to DAF, the new PACCAR PX-5 and PX-7 engines, in combination with the new automatic 8-speed PowerLine gearboxes, offer up to 7% higher fuel efficiency compared with the previous models.

The 69 trucks, which were delivered by Cambridgeshire- and Suffolk-based dealer, Chassis Cab, are new-generation XF 450 models with 10.8-litre PACCAR MX-11 engines rated at 450 hp.

DAF UK has appointed new sales directors, including Nigel Beckett as UK Parts Sales & Marketing Director, and a new EV Sales and Services team.

The Night Lock, which DAF claims is 150% stronger than comparable products on the market, will be available as an option for the new XF/XG/XG+ trucks or as a retrofit for older models.

Eindhoven-based DAF Trucks N.V. has announced two changes to its management board. Harry Woltershas been promoted to General Manager Global Powertrain & Electrification at PACCAR Corporate, effective August 1st. He will be succeeded by Harald Seidel, who will take over as DAF President.

20 LF Electric rigid trucks from Eindhoven-based DAF Trucks N.V. have begun testing as part of the Battery Electric Truck Trial (BETT), funded by the Department for Transport (DfT).

The components division of DAF Trucks N.V. is set to supply 100 PACCAR MX-11 engines to Turkish bus manufacturer Otokar. The Euro VI engines will be fitted to 100 Otokar Metrobuses for operation in Istanbul.

DAF Trucks N.V., based in Eindhoven, has begun field testing the new generation of the XF, XG, and XG+ distribution trucks. DAF will unveil its New Generation of distribution trucks in the second half of the year. The new series will become available in addition to the range of DAF CF trucks.

More than 100 local authorities are taking legal action against Daimler, DAF, Volvo, MAN, Iveco, and Scania, who were found to have colluded in price fixing over fourteen years in 2016.
