There is a five-mile extension of the existing 14-mile autonomous bus trial (CAVForth) from Edinburgh Park station across the Forth Road Bridge in the UK in an attempt to gather more complex data, utilising an upgraded version of Fusion’s CAVStar autonomous driving software and ADL’s Enviro100EV electric bus.

The tripartite modular design of the new powertrain will allow for new cab-chassis configurations that were not available before, with Mercedes claiming that the new eSprinter will be its “most versatile” electric van of all time.

The USD16m will be spent on expanding and upgrading its manufacturing facilities located in Charlotte, Michigan to allow for the series production of Class 3-5 electric vehicles.

Having invested GBP 100 million in a project to produce super-efficient hydrogen engines, this multi-year project has reached a major production milestone with its 50th hydrogen combustion engine coming off the group engine line in Foston, UK.

The production facility will be built by Hygen Energy, an Oxford-based firm led by Wrightbus owner and Chairman Jo Bamford.

The project brings together a consortium led by HVS and includes Fusion Processing and Asda.

According to EKA, the decision was made due to the extended product life this will add to the vehicle making it more sustainable and valuable to operators.
