Linamar Corporation of Livonia, Michigan has entered the evaluation phase for its first Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle delivery vans with UPS in California. They are part of a technology contract with the Centre for Transportation and the Environment which is managing the Next Generation Fuel Cell Delivery Van Deployment Project for the California Air Resources Board.

Private equity firm, ClearVue Partners of Shanghai, China (est. 2012) has completed a Series C funding round for Plus (formerly Plus.ai), a provider of self-driving truck technology in the US and China, raising USD220m. ClearVue is the co-lead investor of the financing round.

Irizar e-mobility of Aduna, Spain, starting September 2021 is to supply 44 electric ie buses to Burgas Bus in Burgas, Bulgaria. These are the first electric buses acquired by Burgas and, according to Irizar, its electro-mobility project is currently one of the largest in Bulgaria.

Bus builder, Blue Bird Corporation of Fort Valley, Georgia has voiced its support for the newly introduced 'Clean Commute for Kids Act of 2021.' The Act provides purchase assistance for electric school buses and is authorised to provide funding of up to USD2.5bn a year for districts, allowing affordable purchase of electric school buses.

The BYD-ADL partnership for the British market is introducing additional electric bus charging options to improve operational flexibility. In addition to AC plug charging, all zero emission buses can now be specified with DC sockets, while double deck buses also have the option of roof-mounted connector rails for OppCharge pantographs.

In April 2021, Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus Ltda of Resende, Rio de Janeiro announced it would be starting series production of the e-Delivery within the first semester and that it will go on sale in the second half of the year through its main concessionaires across the country.

BYD and Marcopolo in March announced delivery of the first articulated electric bus to be made in Brazil to the city of São José dos Campos. The vehicle is to be used for city public transport as part of the Linha Verde project.

The National Association of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers of São Paulo, SP, which represents the vehicle manufacturing sector in Brazil, has asked the Brazilian government to postpone the implementation date of stricter Proconve 8 (Euro VI) emission rules from diesel engines in commercial vehicles, which were adopted in 2018 and are scheduled for implementation in 2022.
