Hyundai Motor Company has signed a distribution agreement for its Elec City battery-powered buses with an agency in Indonesia.

LaFontaine Automotive Group will set up and manage two dealerships for Bollinger Motors in the state of Michigan: one in Lansing and the other in Farmington Hills.

The planned facility will cover 46,000 square metres and employ more than 500 workers, engaged in storing and distributing spare parts as well as electric vehicle batteries.

The company says it will focus on commercialising its ‘Solar Bus Kit’, which (despite the name) is intended for trucks and trailers as well as buses.

The company reported that sales of Maxus vans grew by 46% in 2023, while its battery electric vans took fourth place in the UK LCV-EV market, and it forecasts growth of 50% across all brands this year. 

The e-Sys is an electric energy recovery and auxiliary traction system developed exclusively by Randoncorp subsidiaries. The Mexican market, according to Suspensys, on average is 25,000 new semi-trailers per year, and is the second largest in Latin America, behind Brazil.

Agreements were signed with dealers in southern Alberta, Toronto, and Montreal.

The station boasts a daily capacity for up to 40 Class 8 trucks, including (though not exclusively) Nikola’s own range of fuel cell electric trucks.

By the end of the year, MAN aims to complete construction of a new 52,650-square-metre building, with a capacity of up to 40,000 commercial vehicle parts.

The five locations which were recently added were Vanguard Truck Centers dealerships in Phoenix, Arizona; Atlanta, Georgia; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Austin and Houston, Texas.

As the leader in the UK truck market, a comprehensive aftermarket network has been key to the company's success. More than GBP 100 million was spent in 2023 on upgrading dealer premises, including the Adams Morey in Bridgewater, Ford & Slater in Stockton and North West Trucks in Warrington.

The eCanter was originally launched in 2017, with a new upgraded model made available since last year. It is sold in a growing number of markets in Asia, including Taiwan from last month.
