First half sales ofCVs in 2022 increase by 50%.

Weeks after opening its new silicon wafer fabrication facility in Dresden, Robert Bosch GmbH, based in Stuttgart, has announced it is to invest EUR400 million in its silicon chip manufacturing facilities throughout 2022. The investment will expand its wafer fabrication sites in Dresden and Reutlingen, Germany, and its semiconductor operations in Penang, Malaysia.

The Malaysian commercial vehicle market over 2 tons gvw expanded by 5.4% year-on-year to 19,915 units in the fourth quarter of 2021 after rebounding by 25% to 18,893 units in the same period of the previous year, according to www.AsiaMotorBusiness.com analysis of industry data. 

The Malaysian market for pickup trucks increased by almost 12% year-on-year to 14,685 units in the fourth quarter of 2021 after surging by 37% to 13,145 units in the same period of the previous year, resulting in a 21% rise in full-year sales to 39,832 units after a 4% fall to 33,034 units previously.  

March 10-12 saw MAN Truck & Bus (M) Sdn Bhd (MAN Malaysia) of Johor use this year’s Malaysia Commercial Vehicle Expo (MCVE) 2022 to launch the all-new MAN TGX flagship model for the first time ever in Malaysia.
