The shipments were made to the Adani-run ports of Ennore, Katupalli, Hazira and Mundra and has been widely publicised as the first sizeable batch order for heavy-duty electric trucks for port operation in India.

At the IAA Transportation 2022, BYD launched two new electric trucks, the BYD ETM6, a 7.5 tons gvw truck for the urban delivery truck market and the BYD ETH8 (19 tons) for general distribution,  waste collection and recycling - marking its entry into the European e-truck market.

Shell plc, now headquartered in London, UK, and BYD Auto Co Ltd of Shenzhen, China, have signed a cooperation agreement focusing on the supply of electric vehicle charging infrastructure across Europe and China. As part of the agreement, the two firms will also establish a joint venture to develop EV charging networks in China.

BYD Inc, the US subsidiary of Shenzhen, China-based BYD Auto Co Ltd, has announced the appointment of Michael Stafford to the role of Director of Business Development. In his role, Stafford will lead the company’s battery electric truck team.

BYD has recieved an order for 200 Class 8 battery electric trucks from Swedish technology firm Einride. The order represents the largest of its kind for BYD outside of Asia, with all 200 vehicles set to be deployed in Einride's US operations. The BYD 8TT trucks are assembled at the firm's plant in Lancaster, California.

Alexander Dennis Ltd, headquartered in Larbert, Scotland, and BYD Auto Co Ltd, based in Shenzhen China, have announced that they are to build 130 double deck Enviro400EVs, ready to enter service in Coventry, UK, in 2023.

BYD Inc, the US subsidiary of Shenzhen-based BYD Auto Co Ltd, headquartered in Los Angeles, California, has announced the launch of its Type A electric school bus for the North American market.

Industrial conglomerate, Indonesia’s Bakrie & Brothers Tbk (BNBR) announced in December it is now focused increasingly on expanding its renewable energy business and is working on supplying battery-powered electric vehicles (EV) for the country’s public transportation network.  

BYD Co Ltd, based in Shenzhen, China, has announced a partnership with autonomous vehicle specialist Nuro of Mountain View, California, USA to manufacture the firm’s third generation autonomous delivery vehicle.

BYD has been targeted in a total ban on federal transit funding for manufacturers linked to China, which came into effect on 20th December 2021.
