BorgWarner has announced that it will use FinDreams Battery pack design and cells to manufacture lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs for the European, North American and Asian Pacific Commercial Vehicle (CV) markets.

Thirty-five more buses are set to be delivered in Q1 2024. The low-floor 15m electric buses have a range of 200 km on a single charge, thanks to the 300-kWh battery pack, which takes three hours to fully charge.

The order consists of 11-, 12- and 18-metre electric buses, set to be delivered next year.

BYD debuted two new electric buses for the European market. These new buses joined two established BYD models on the stand: the BYD eBus B19 and the BYD eBus B15.

BYD says it plough USD 580 million into a new factory on the premises of an old Ford facility in Camaçari, Bahia, Brazil which closed in January 2021. The factory will consist of three separate facilities, one will focus on chassis production for the electric bus and truck market, the second will build electric passenger vehicles and the third, components for both commercial and passenger vehicles.

The 69-seater buses also feature 30 USB charging ports, built-in WIFI and air conditioning along with a total capacity of 97 passengers.

The 1500th electric bus was a BYD–Alexander Dennis Enviro200EV, one of 299 joining Go-Ahead London.
