The PV5 will be manufactured at Kia's newly constructed Hwaseong EVO plant in South Korea. We spoke to representatives of Kia at the show who told us that the order book will be open next month and that the first vehicles are expected to arrive on UK shores by the end of the year.

Tasman model to be rolled out globally from 2025 with 90,000 target sales in North America.

Kia is currently building a new plant in South Korea’s Gyeonggi province dedicated to the production of battery-powered PBVs of various sizes and specifications.

The Kia Tasman will be the Hyundai Motor Group’s first one-ton pickup truck when it goes on sale in global markets in 2025.

Kia unveiled a range of highly customizable PBV models and related eco-system during 2024 at various key shows; CES in Las Vegas, Busan Mobility Show in South Korea and at IAA in Hannover, Germany.

Kia said the new “Tasman” will be a multi-purpose model aimed at the “working” and “life-style” sub-segments of the global pickup truck market.

The new facility is scheduled to be completed in 2028 within the company’s Hwaseong manufacturing complex.
