According to an agreement between the two companies, Omega will be authorised to upfit and resell VMC 1200 trucks with aluminium tanks and vacuum truck hose reels for cleaning sewers, septic tanks, and grease traps.

The Canadian manufacturer received an order for 1,000 VMC 1200 trucks from Pioneer Auto Group, its exclusive dealer in the province of British Columbia.

The VMC 1200, with a gross vehicle weight rating of 12,000 lbs (over 5 tonnes), is fitted with a 120-kW motor and lithium-ion batteries providing up to 150 kWh of energy and a range of up to 180 miles.

The Canadian CV manufacturer saw its revenues grow from USD19.6m to USD41.7m in 2021, but its adjusted losses amounted to USD2.7m.

The order for 100 units of the VMC 1200 range is worth CAD12m and is set to be fulfilled beginning in Q2 2022.

Proterra will supply a minimum of 600 vehicles, including Vicinity Lightning transit buses and Vicinity Motor's truck chassis platform, with batteries through 2024.

The Canadian manufacturer will deliver 100 VMC 1200 trucks in Q2 2022; it also received an order for over 150 VMC Optimal E1 Electric Chassis from Olathe Fleet Solutions.

Vicinity Motor has entered a distributor agreement with ABC Bus Companies for its line of heavy-duty mid-size buses and battery-electric buses in the USA.

Vicinity Motor has received a CAD14m order for 100 VMC 1200 trucks from the Canadian dealer.

Phillips joins Vicinity Motor from Alliance Bus Group and will be responsible for sales in North America.

Electrovaya will supply its NMC batteries for integration with the Vicinity Lightning line of mid-sized buses and the VMC 1200 Class 3 truck.
