Alexander Dennis Ltd of Larbert, Scotland, and BYD UK, of Iver, England, have delivered 29 Enviro400EV double deck buses to London transport operator Abellio. The buses feature a swathe of customer focussed tweaks such as a skylight on the upper deck and phone mounts on the back of all seats.

Dayco Products, based in Roseville, Michigan, has announced a partnership with Nuvera Fuel Cells LLC, a manufacturer of fuel cells based in Billerica, Massachusetts. Under the agreement, the two firms will jointly develop an integrated fuel cell electric power solution. Nuvera will contribute its eighth-generation fuel stack, with Dayco offering energy management controls and system integration.

BorgWarner Inc, based in Auburn Hills, Michigan, USA, has announced it has signed an agreement with Santroll Automotive Components of Tianjin, China, to purchase its eMotor business for approximately USD220 million. The deal is expected to close in late Q1 2022.

Ceres Power Holdings plc, based in Horsham, UK, and Weichai Power Co of Weifang, Shandong, have announced that they have signed a non-binding agreement with Robert Bosch Gmbh of Gerlingen, Germany, for the establishing of a three-way collaboration to deliver fuel cells to the Chinese market.

Columbus, Indiana-based Cummins Inc has announced a new platform of fuel-agnostic engines derived from a common base engine. The firm states that the platform will be available for diesel, natural gas, and hydrogen.

Ebusco Holding N.V., headquartered in Deurne, Netherlands, has received an order for up to 80 electric buses from Metropole Rouen Normandie, the operator of public transport in Rouen, France. The contract comprises an initial order for four Ebusco 2.2 buses to be delivered at the end of 2022 with an option to purchase an additional 76 Ebusco 3.0 buses to be delivered in batches between 2023 and 2026. All units in the contract are 18 metre models.

Ballard Power Systems, based in Vancouver, Canada, and Chart Industries Inc of Atlanta, USA, have announced the successful test of a fuel cell powered by liquid hydrogen. The firms added that they will work to identify a potential demonstrator for liquid hydrogen road testing over the coming months.

HVAC systems supplier for bus and coach and rail, Hispacold SA has opened a climate testing laboratory at its headquarters in Seville. The new purpose-built facility has two separate climate chambers, one for bus and one for rail. Hispacold says it has invested close to EUR1million in the centre, with initial plans first drawn up as far back as 2010.

Hankook Tire & Technology, based in Seoul, South Korea, has announced the official opening of a new test centre in Idiada, Spain, around 40 miles outside Barcelona. The test centre operates a highly automated testing process with an on-site team of around 20 people.

Bus and coach builder, CaetanoBus, has announced it will be co-branding its zero emission buses with Toyota. This move follows the bus builder’s change in share ownership in December 2020.
