Available in 4x2 and 6x2 configurations and up to 44 tonnes GCW, the S-eWay Rigid is now ready to electrify the UK’s commercial vehicle fleet.

The tyre, designed for the regional and long-distance distribution market, boasts a 5-tonne load capacity (per tyre, 10 tonnes per axle) and a reinforced carcass ensuring durability and longevity.

The van is built on a “native electric skateboard platform” manufactured at Renault’s factory in Sandouville, France. Series production is planned to start in 2026, with the order book set to open by the end of this year.

The two companies announced they would work together to develop a 4x2 prototype heavy truck with a fuel cell driveline supplied by Symbio.

The autonomous e-ATAK is also operating in Switzerland and Finland.

Hyliion’s founder and CEO, Thomas Healy, told show delegates that the company has exited the EV powertrain market and is now focused on the “distributed power networks of the future”, where charging operators and data centres will make their power “at the end location” rather than depending on the grid.

The Farizon SV is priced from GBP 45,000 plus VAT, with order books now open and first deliveries expected later this year.

Following on from an agreement signed last year to develop a self-driving tractor, Kalmar and Forterra are now in the second round of tests of their jointly developed solution.

The hub will include 16 high-capacity charging bays with 12 ultra-fast chargers (supplied by Heliox), each delivering up to 360 kW, as well as four megawatt chargers funded through the eFREIGHT 2030 project aimed at decarbonising the heavy-duty transport sector in the UK.
