OC Transpo, the public transport agency for the Canadian capital of Ottawa, has ordered 124 ‘Xcelsior Charge NG’ 40-foot buses.

The order, valued at around EUR50m, is for 57 ‘Lion’s City 12 E’ buses, powered by pure electric drivelines, and 27 ‘Lion’s City 18’ artics with MAN’s ‘EfficientHybrid’ technology.

This initial charging stop is expected to serve regional logistics companies, fleet operators, and international hauliers, and is seen as a model for broader megawatt infrastructure rollouts across Italy and Southern Europe in the coming years.

The vehicles will operate landside shuttle services between terminals, with full deployment expected by early 2026.
