The rebranding is part of the company's plan to completely reinvent itself going from light duty truck builder to producer of EV charging equipment.

The funding is to come from the Department for Transport (DfT), National Highways, HS2 Ltd, Network Rail and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).

In order to drive up consumer interest, the company has been publishing many of its tests. The latest endeavour saw the eActros 600 complete a five-week test in temperatures of up to 44 degrees Celsius in Andalusia, Spain.

Siemens said that the acquisition, which would merge Heliox into its existing eMobility portfolio of charging products, will expand its coverage to DC fast chargers for trucks and buses.

Called ‘Turnkey Solutions’, the new service pairs signed-up customers with their local Volvo Trucks dealer, who will help them to set up their own charging infrastructure.

The Federal Cabinet of Germany has allocated EUR 13.8 billion for E-Mobility funding from 2024 – 2027. The funding will target the advancement of electromobility, which includes the expansion of commercial vehicle charging infrastructure.

The company has unveiled its new hinged high-voltage connectors for heavy-duty electric vehicle charging, which increase cable-to-connector stability in high-voltage applications, thereby increasing performance, reliability and safety for users and operators.

The onboard engines are modified to run on LNG with Westport’s high-pressure direct injection (HPDI) system.

Plans for this project first emerged in Haskel’s white paper published in 2022 where it outlined plans to provide Coregas with its turnkey GENO hydrogen refuelling station (HRS*), designed for highly demanding refuelling profiles that deliver back-to-back filling, with a capacity of 400kg of hydrogen per day.

This new and expanded alliance – which builds on an agreement signed in 2021 – will extend to “renewable gasoline blends, biodiesel and renewable diesel” as well as hydrogen and renewable natural gas.

The company has signed a framework agreement with Norwegian food retailer, ASKO, to build fast-charging infrastructure for its electric trucks at its 13 logistics depots in various parts of Norway.
