The South Korean market for commercial vehicles over 2 tons gvw fell by almost 11% to 51,640 in the fourth quarter of 2021 from 57,810 units in the same period of the previous year, based on data from various industry sources. 

David Goldberg will take over from Hai Aviv, effective February 2022.

The P7 modular platform is designed to serve as a Class 3-5 commercial vehicle, with its fully-flat chassis providing a maximum payload of 8,800 lbs.

The Peruvian truck segment ended 2021 with the sale of 15,680 units, an increase of 45.5% compared with 10,773 in 2020, and a gain of 27% compared with 2019, according to figures collected and supplied by the Automotive Association of Peru (AAP) based in the capital Lima.

Despite supply shortages and production stoppages during 2021, the Brazilian truck manufacturers responded well to a market that grew strongly: According to data from Anfavea (National Association of Automotive Vehicle Manufacturers) sales in 2021 totalled 128,679, an increase of 43.5% compared with 89,678 units in 2020.

The commercial vehicle sector in Colombia has grown in recent months, ending the year with positive numbers in 2021. According to ANDEMOS (National Association for Sustainable Mobility), commercial vehicle (trucks and buses) sales rose by 77.7% to 35,567 units compared with 20,018 units in 2020.

The Argentine market ended 2021 with the sale of 14,827 commercial vehicles (trucks and buses), an increase of 41.1% over 10,510 units in 2020, according to data from ACARA (Association of Automobile Dealers of the Argentine Republic). ACARA stated the growth was due as much to market recovery as to the close collaborative efforts between the manufacturers and the dealer network to ensure the range of products available in stores across the country met the growing demand.

The Chilean truck market celebrated unit sales of 16,898 trucks in 2021, an increase of 58.7% over the 10,646 units registered 2020, a result that corresponds to the third best year of the past decade,  behind 2011 and 2012 when 18,585 and 18,309 vehicles were registered respectively - according to figures collated and released by ANAC (National Automotive Association of Chile).

With the continuation of the mass vaccination and maintenance of a high level of GDP, the Brazilian truck and bus segment should continue to grow in 2022, stated Márcio Querichelli, President of IVECO Commercial Vehicles South America Ltda speaking Sete Lagoas, Minas Gerais with Truck & Bus Builder South America in December. “IVECO has registered a significant volume of orders with many coming from the general cargo and mining segments, especially in the heavy and semi-heavy truck segments,” he stated.
