Sales of LCV goods carrier (truck) vehicles (gvw ≤ 7.5t) fell by 8.5% to 127,213 units in Q3 of FY 2021/22 from 139,041 units in same period of FY 2020/21.

Tractor sales grew by 70.7% during the third quarter (October to December) during financial year 2021-22 (Q3:21/22 to register 6,910 units compared with 4,049 units in the same quarter of the previous year (FY20/21), with the heavy weight tractor segment being the main contributor to growth.

Domestic sales of buses (7.5t gvw and above) increased by a massie 110.8% in the third quarter (Q3: October to December) of the financial year 2021-22 to register 3,624 units, up from 1,719 units in Q3/2020-21.

Sales of light duty vehicles (7.5t & below) rose by 26.2% to register 3,535 units in Q3 (October to December) of FY 2021/22 from 2,801 units in Q3 of FY2020/21.

The Chilean truck market celebrated unit sales of 16,898 trucks in 2021, an increase of 58.7% over the 10,646 units registered 2020, a result that corresponds to the third best year of the past decade,  behind 2011 and 2012 when 18,585 and 18,309 vehicles were registered respectively - according to figures collated and released by ANAC (National Automotive Association of Chile).
