Olectra Greentech, through its strategic technical collaboration with BYD Auto Industry of Shenzhen, China, has started trials of its first 6x4 heavy-duty electric tipper in Hyderabad.

Sales in India of light-duty trucks (GVW ≤ 7.5t) grew by 19.0% to 148,890 units in Q4 of FY2021-22 (January to March 2022), up from 125,160 units in same period last year.

Sales of light-duty buses (7.5t & below) surged by 48.8% to register 6.937 units in Q4 of FY2021-22 (January to March), up from 4,662 units in Q4 of FY2020-21.

Sales of medium and heavy rigid trucks (7.5t GVW and above) in India experienced a positive growth of 13.8% in Q4 of FY2021-22 to register 76,671 units, up from 67,377 units in same quarter of the year 2020-21.

Dearborn, Michigan-based Ford Motor Co has received an order from Penske Truck Leasing for 750 units of its E-Transit cargo van. Initially, Penske’s E-Transit vans will be made available in Southern California, with other locations in the US to be phased in later in the year.
