The South Korean company has expanded its range of battery-powered city buses.

The vehicle in question is an articulated ‘Urbino 18’ battery electric bus, one of fifty ordered in 2023 by Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe, the state-owned company which manages public transportation in the German capital.

Geely is looking to establish itself as a leading electric pickup supplier to Thailand.

The company confirmed that the first batch of trucks have been delivered to TruKKer, a digital-based logistics company operating in the Middle East.

The Tata Daewoo company was founded in 1995 as Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Company Ltd and was acquired by India’s Tata Motors Ltd in 2004.

The order includes 150 high-end electric luxury intercity coaches and 50 e-buses.

Ashok Leyland to supply the electric trucks as part of a full eMaaS package with infrastructure partner BillionElectric.

The Slovak company unveiled the tractor unit at a press event – a Ford F-Max truck retrofitted with a range-extended electric powertrain and dubbed ‘M&I RH120R’.

The initiative is enabled by the “hydrogen in mobility” subsidy scheme (Subsidieregeling Waterstof in Mobiliteit, or “SWiM”), which is offering a total of EUR40m to applicants next year.

With this pilot, Volvo hopes to earn “regulatory and public trust and acceptance of autonomous technologies”.

Deliveries are set to start in Q4 2025 with the trucks built in partnership with Iowa-based family-run refuse and recycling truck body manufacturer New Way Trucks.

The order is from Clean Green Fuel and Logistics Pvt Ltd, a two-year old start-up logistics focussed on revolutionizing operations with green fuel solutions.
