Battery and electric vehicle manufacturer, BYD Company, celebrated 20 years of operations in Europe at its European headquarters in Schiedam last December.

Federico Gutierrez, the mayor of Medellin, has announced BYD Inc is the successful bidder to supply 64 electric buses for the city’s ‘Metroplús’ rapid transit system.

The governor of the province of Mendoza has approved the importation of 18 electric buses from Chinese builders, BYD and Zhongtong, to provide passenger transportation services in the city.

Operator, Compañía de Transporte Saucinc SA, in March 2019 is to start transporting passengers using electric buses bought from the Chinese company, BYD Inc.

The first deliveries of electric buses to local customers have been completed by BYD production facilities in France and Hungary.
