The RangeMax RSD EV is designed to withstand the added EV load capacities and with energy efficiency and low rolling resistance in mind, the tyre is available in size 295/75R22.5.

The new PreSet Plus wheel-ends efficiency package will be optimised with a proprietary low-drag seal and advanced bearings to further decrease resistance at the wheel end, improving fuel efficiency and reducing emissions.

Future ‘Tre’ vehicles will be outfitted with a version of ‘PlusDrive’ which incorporates a set of advanced driver assistance systems, including lane centring, lane changes, merges, stop-and-go traffic, nudging, and braking.

The deal will mark the first time that ZF’s OnTraX system for lane keeping assistance has been installed in a commercial vehicle platform in North America.

Preliminary specifications include a 300-320 kW motor, a 2-speed transmission, a 90-100 kW fuel cell stack, and a small lithium-ion battery pack to provide extra power.

While the majority of the hydrogen produced will be used in industry (including automotive), 10% has been earmarked as fuel for hydrogen vehicles, and Plug Power says it will also be installing a hydrogen fuel station at the site.

This comes off the back of a private funding round late last year in order to scale production of its battery cell plant in Arizona through upgraded equipment and technology.

The two companies in question are Heliox BV of Best, Netherlands and Gilbarco Inc (“Gilbarco Veeder-Root”), a fuel pump supplier also based in Greensboro.

The vehicle was produced as part of the existing SuperTruck program co-funded by the U.S. Department of Energy and industry, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in road transportation.
