Clarience Technologies LLC, headquartered in Southfield, Michigan, has entered a technology alliance focused on trailer applications with Lafayette, Indiana-based trailer builder Wabash National Corp.

Advanced Electric Machines Ltd (AEM) based in Washington, UK, has announced it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Cho Thavee Public Company Limited (CTV) of Khon Khaen, and ASIA CAB Co of Bangkok, for the development of a retrofit solution that will enable ICE cars to be electrified with AEM motors.

Bridgestone Corporation, based in Tokyo, Japan, has launched a joint programme to develop chemical recycling technologies that utilise used tyres to achieve high-yield production of isoprene, a raw material used in synthetic rubber production.

Robert Bosch GmbH, based in Stuttgart, Germany, has announced it is to acquire Atlatec GmbH, an autonomous driving specialist based in Karlsruhe, Germany. Atlatec will become part of Bosch’s Cross-Domain Computing Solutions division as an independently operated company.

Ford Motor Co, based in Dearborn, Michigan has announced that Ford Otomotiv Sanayi A.Ş. (Ford Otosan), based in Gölcük, Turkey, will assume control of its manufacturing plant in Craiova, Romania, subject to regulatory approval, in Q3 2022.

Allison Transmission Inc, based in Indianapolis, Indiana, has announced an agreement with Mack Trucks Inc, headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina. Under the agreement, Allison’s 3000 Rugged Duty Series (RDS) transmission will be offered in the Mack Class 6 and Class 7 MD truck series.

Ford Motor Co, based in Dearborn, Michigan, USA, SK On Co Ltd, based in Seoul, South Korea, and Koç Holding, based in Istanbul, Turkey, have signed a memorandum of understanding for a new joint venture in Turkey. The proposed JV would lead to the creation of one of the largest commercial vehicle electric battery facilities in the European region.

Bernard Krone GmbH & Co, based in Werlte, Germany, has entered a strategic partnership with service provider Efficient-Consumer-Response ECR-Solutions Servicegesellschaft mbH (ECR) of Dortmund. The aim of the agreement is to work together to further develop and expand Krone’s fleet management service packages for fleet operators.

Virtual Vehicle is an open OEM platform developed by Platform Science which enables access to real-time vehicle data and third-party applications directly from the vehicle onboard telematics.

The two companies plan to sell around 5,000 retrofitted trucks and buses in France by 2030, supported by over EUR1.5m raised earlier in the year by REV Mobilities.
